Easy installation, LEDs are VERY bright. I have a crystal clear shell, and they may be so bright they're too distracting to play lol. I'll definitely pick up that control board & play around with brightness, but I am very happy so far!

Retro Pixel IPS LCD Trim Guide for Game Boy Color
I use an ez flash omega definitive edition for my GBA and the quality carries over to the parallel. My only gripe is there’s a sleep bug that causes the system to flash if the top shell is closed during a game, however I have found this to have minimal impact on my enjoyment. As the pros far outweigh the cons.

I got this kit with no intention of being able to use all features because I was under the impression I needed a touch sensor of some sort to do so, and some extra soldering. To my surprise, I was sent an upgraded version of the kit with a touch sensor built into the ribbon cable that extends to the top of the shell, and it works too good! This console was completely transformed when I finally got it functional and operating correctly. I am a beginner with soldering and thought I was going to have more trouble than I actually did. The screen itself looks better than what the pictures tell you, and I am surprised at all the color options for the logo itself. From what I am aware, extended batteries and this screen can work without replacing the regulator, FYI. This console is the cleanest and brightest way to play all your classic favorites on original (or unoriginal s/o FPGBC) hardware.
This is great if you just want your old GBC backlit without any other fancy bells and whistles. The screen is slightly smaller than the original, but it's still worth it for a backlit screen IMO. Simple to install. No soldering or shell trimming is a big plus.
