Retro Pixel IPS LCD with Laminated Lens for Game Boy Color

I got this kit with no intention of being able to use all features because I was under the impression I needed a touch sensor of some sort to do so, and some extra soldering. To my surprise, I was sent an upgraded version of the kit with a touch sensor built into the ribbon cable that extends to the top of the shell, and it works too good! This console was completely transformed when I finally got it functional and operating correctly. I am a beginner with soldering and thought I was going to have more trouble than I actually did. The screen itself looks better than what the pictures tell you, and I am surprised at all the color options for the logo itself. From what I am aware, extended batteries and this screen can work without replacing the regulator, FYI. This console is the cleanest and brightest way to play all your classic favorites on original (or unoriginal s/o FPGBC) hardware.

I've just instaled it and so far it's great many features that are cool !
Fitting it in the shell (not funny playing one) requiers a bunch of trimming and precise work but with patience and a dremel it's nothing to get overwhelmed by.

The soldering is straight foroward and verry eazy it's almost a drop-in replacement

Beautiful display, 100% enhanced my life. I wouldn't ever want to play a Gameboy without it again, game changer.

Would have gotten 5 stars if official installation guide and user instructions were somewhat easy to find.

Just remember that its power-hungry and If you are using other mods as well (overclock / amp etc.) you probably need to upgrade the power regulator with something like "Clean power"

The IPs screen is terrific, easy install, shell is perfect… super impressed..

Worked great until the laminate started peeling off after only two months. Get yourself an LCD screen that is separate from the screen plate, it'll look just as nice and last infinitely longer.

This is a great replacement for the dim OEM display. Does need a special shell but worth it.

This is an amazing product! Looks great and was super easy to install into the precut Funny Playing shells. The preinstalled screen lens is a godsend.

I got the v2.7, no soldering required! The touch sensor lets you access the OSD to be able to change the brightness, logo colour, pixel effects and move the display.

I used this screen when I modded my GBC, it worked perfectly, touch sensor is great, couldn’t ask for a better system.

Came in great condition, very neatly packaged. I never soldered before but it was very easy to do and would recommend even if not experienced with soldering.

A little finicky to setup and requires a little soldering but the result is great! Love the bigger screen and the crystal clear visuals.

There's no better screen for your GBC. If you're thinking about getting one, get one.

First “mod” I have attempted. I found it pretty easy. I had to redo it once because I over tightened the back screws. The gameboy start up screen was all janky and missing some of the image. But relieving pressure on the screws solved my issue. I did not bother soldering the jumpers to the start and select buttons. I do not use that feature. The screen dimming/ brightness works good too. I did not realize the prices were in USD. I though it was a Canada based company. Oops.

I had done a GBC screen mod with different parts and ended up with dust or even a finger print left on the inside of the glass, but not with the laminated screen! This one goes in clean and gives great new life to your GBC. Im now playing games on it I had dismissed before because they look so much better on the bigger back lit screen.

Great quality as always from Funnyplaying, having the lens attached to the screen is SO worth it. Be aware that you'll need to either buy one of the specifically made shells or do a lot of careful cutting to the screen window, but getting one of the fitted shells is also very worth it, makes for a super easy install.
