Retro Pixel IPS LCD for Game Boy Pocket

I started with my old gambit pocket that was used and abused. I gave it new life by install an IPS screen and a new shell, I am impressed by how great it turned out and how easy it was too install. 100 percent recommend this to anyone who wants to improve their gameboy!

I've used this screen for 2 different projects and they look great. Installation was super easy. I used the centering bracket on one and not on the other. I would say that it's not absolutely necessary, but it did make the process easier and I would likely use the bracket again if I use this screen for future projects. The screen also has a number of color palettes.

Install was very easy and the display is stunning! Such a huge upgrade for the GBP, highly recommend.

Got the IPS kit very quickly and was relatively easy to install if you follow the youtube video guide. Only thing not mentioned in the video was to put the adhesive copper pad onto the metal bar touch sensor. This allows you to create a solder joint from the copper pad (conductive copper tape attached to the metal rectangle) to the ribbon cable. Touch sensor has many different color options and is a really cool set. 10/10 quality!

Works great, the little wires took some patience to maneuver with my big fingers when soldiering, be patient and take you time making sure you got your screen lined up nice

This was the first major mod I had attempted on my gameboy pocket, and I loved it. It was super simple to install and looks amazing. It brings the gameboy up to modern times and breathes new life into. If you are looking to purchase a new screen, I highly recommend this one.

Absolutely in love with this IPS LCD kit for the Game Boy Pocket; the retro pixel grid is incredible, and the color options are great. I also love how the brightness can be set by the contrast wheel. Included bracket is also phenomenal - makes trimming the shell (if you do so on your own) and lining up the LCD so much easier.

i havnt installed it yet but this place never steers me wrong thank you guys

I love the website retro modding and modding my old school gameboy pocket was my first tome getting into modding! It feels amazing to learn new skills especially as a gamer for so many years! Learning how to solder and more about electronics has been a blessing for myself! Retro modding is awesome!

The screen took a bit to arrive but everything worked as intended. Using a new shell the screen install was fairly quick with only minor soldering needed. The screen looks fantastic and gave the pocket new life now that i can play it in low light.

Picture and clarity are great and I'd buy more if I had more motherboards laying around.

It fit perfectly in the red clear shell I also purchased. Easy installation if you know what you're doing 🤝🏼
