If your Game Boy Color buttons are sticky or unresponsive, it's likely that the conductive silicone pads are worn out or dirty. The first step to restoring your console is to try cleaning the pads with a Q-tip dipped in isopropyl alcohol. If that doesn't work, consider swapping them out for a brand new replacement set.

These felt better to me than the ones that come with the cheaper generic shells from China such as on ebay. I am actually really pleased with these and I ordered more for another gameboy I did. These had a good firm bounce feedback on my device when pressing the button in. I'm not sure what makes these better than any other generic from China but they were and I'm sold.
