Unfortunately, many aftermarket Game Boy Color D-pads have a flatter rocker than the OEM buttons. As a result, the D-pad will sit slightly lower than expected, and allows for the input of opposite directions simultaneously. 

This simple 3D-printed riser has been designed to correct that, and restore the genuine feel to your aftermarket buttons. Designed to sit between the silicone and the PCB, the simple, no adhesive install will make correcting problematic D-pads quick and easy!

D Pad Risers

My after market Funny Playing D pad was not reading the inputs correctly. I was hoping the spacers would fix the problem since they are not exact measurements of the OEM and the OEM works perfectly. After trying to put the spacer in I could not even move the D Pad. Maybe, they work better with another after market D Pad but not this one. I had to remove it.

Exactly what I needed

I just recently bought a not so cheap modded GBC that came with replacement buttons and pads. I noticed right away the d-pad had zero rock like the center pivot didn’t exist and some games were very difficult to play. I came across this riser and decided to try it before buying a used GBC to harvest the buttons and I’m very pleased with the results. It extended the center pivot just enough to feel like a normal d-pad should. Great solution to what I’m assuming is a pretty common problem when using replacement buttons!

A little helpful

If you are looking to fix the loose jiggle from an aftermarket d pad this wont help. Might help with dpad control issues

Works great when your GBC needs it

I bought a few of these and I’ve noticed that they aren’t necessary with every dpad. Id say if you don’t mind the feel, this might not improve the functionality.
