      Notes

      • Intended for IPS LCDs installed using our 3D-printed centering bracket
      • Recommended for use on shells trimmed for the IPS LCD
      • While it can be used with the AGS-101, part of the shell will be visible around the edges
      • Not compatible with the GBA SP
      • If installing the LCD in a vibrant shell, you might want to color the edge of the shell around the viewing opening with a black paint marker to prevent the shell from being visible through the lens

      Upgrading to an IPS is the number one mod that has to be done, hands down. Optional brightness control is fantastic as well. The colours are crisp and clear.

      Amazing screen! The only thing I noticed is that it’s a tiny bit small and leave 1/2 mm of extra space in the shell. No big deal though!

      Looks great, maybe with just a bigger gap than I was expecting between the plastic and glass up the top.

      Mixed feelings

      The build quality was not as high as I expected. The plastic feels cheap and my battery cover is rattling, there is also the right side GBA cover piece that is weirdly rattling, the left one isn’t. In total I paid $282.8 so I was expecting a much better plastic and build quality. For reference I bought a £10 cheap shell on ebay for my other gameboy and the quality of the plastic looks the same. The screen is fantastic though and I haven’t experienced any technical issues so far so good point on that side.

      One other thing is I had to pay £48 of taxes when the product arrived in UK. I wish it was a bit clearer on the checkout process that there would be taxes and duties on top. It is in the FAQ but at the time of the order I didn’t think about checking it.

      I am sure you are a small business and it is a very manual process but that is also why I wanted to share my honest thoughts. Overall it is great to have a website like yours for the retro modding community.
